a love of textile
Founded on the principals of shopping slow, Loom was created as an avenue for our community to buy something you love and buy it for life.
That’s why we are intentional in curating only the best treasures to bring to your space.
Our Story
One hundred years ago, a man named Tomasz Kaminski boarded a steamship bound for America with his wife and his three children. Upon arriving at Ellis Island, his occupation was listed simply as ‘weaver’- ‘tkacz’ in Polish.
Fast forward to today. Tucked into the heart of downtown Wyandotte, his great granddaughter has founded a shop focusing on preserving the beauty of the textile arts in the same city Tomasz chose to settle in.
On behalf of our family, witamy. We’re glad you’re here.

Through extensive years curating a private collection, we have established our own sources from private sellers and secondhand stores. Traveling out of country, we’re able bring back European pieces you won’t find anywhere else in the States.
When you shop at Loom, you can be confident that what you’re purchasing is the real deal- and curated just for you.
-
At Loom, we believe that shopping pre-loved, vintage items is one of the most efficient ways to live sustainably.
You can feel good when you purchase a piece from our collection, knowing that it was curated intentionally and with you in mind.
-
Born and raised Downriver, we believe in the power of community. When you shop at Loom you’re supporting a business that keeps money in the community. We live here, we’re raising our baby here, we’re spending our money here- and you should, too!
-
While there are certain items available online, some of what we advertise on social media is too large and too costly to our clients to ship.
If there is something you have your eye on, please contact us and we’ll do what we can.
If you’re local, just let us know and we can set it aside for you for pick up.
